The Hamilton Mountain Seventh-day Adventist Church was organized in 1899, making it the first Adventist Church in Hamilton and the second in Ontario. The church’s current location on the edge of the Niagara escarpment, known in Hamilton as “The Mountain,” was constructed in 1951. This location at 285 feet above sea level, offers a beautiful view that overlooks lower Hamilton and Lake Ontario towards the City of Toronto.
Affectionately known as the “Mountain Church,” our church is also known as the “Mother Church” in Hamilton, producing several ‘daughter’ churches: Hamilton East (1972); a church in Burlington (1976) that later merged with the Oakville group to form the Bronte Church; Lincoln Pioneer Memorial (1985); Heritage Green (1989); Living Word Fellowship (2001) and Hamilton Filipino-Canadian Church (2009). Other institutions implemented through our church include an elementary school: Grandview Adventist Academy (1979) located in Mount Hope, and the Heritage Green Nursing Home (1982) on Stoney Creek Mountain.
With over 400 members currently from 38 different nations, Hamilton Mountain is a multicultural church filled with believers who confess Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour. In faithfulness to our mission, we strive to be a church that C.A.R.E.s* for its members and to continually be a lighthouse to our community. We join together for worship, for fellowship, for instruction in the Word, for the celebration of the Lord’s Supper, and for the worldwide proclamation of the gospel, helping to spread the wonderful message of God’s love and Jesus’ soon return.
We invite you to join us at any of our services.
