HAMILTON MOUNTAIN CHURCH HISTORY

The Hamilton Mountain Seventh-day Adventist Church was organized in 1899, making it the first Adventist Church in Hamilton and the second in Ontario.

The church’s current location on the edge of the Niagara escarpment, known in Hamilton as “The Mountain.” It is a stone throw from the Sam Lawrence park and was constructed in 1951. The church building is at approximately 285 feet above sea level, it offers a beautiful view that overlooks lower Hamilton and Lake Ontario towards the City of Toronto.

Affectionately known as the “Mountain Church,” our church is also known as the “Mother Adventist Church” in Hamilton, producing several ‘daughter’ churches:

Other institutions implemented through our church include an elementary school: Grandview Adventist Academy (1979) located in Mount Hope, and the Heritage Green Nursing Home (1982) on Stoney Creek Mountain.
