WHO WE ARE?

Hamilton Mountain Seventh-day Adventist Church was organized in 1899, making it the first Adventist Church in Hamilton and the second in Ontario. The church’s current location on the edge of the Niagara escarpment, known in Hamilton as “The Mountain,” was constructed in 1951.

This location at 285 feet above sea level, offers a beautiful view that overlooks lower Hamilton and Lake Ontario towards the City of Toronto.

Affectionately known as the “Mountain Church,” our church is also known as the “Mother Church” in Hamilton, producing several ‘daughter’ churches: Hamilton East (1972); a church in Burlington (1976) that later merged with the Oakville group to form the Bronte Church; Lincoln Pioneer Memorial (1985); Heritage Green (1989); Really Living Church (2001) and Hamilton Filipino-Canadian Church (2009). Other institutions implemented through our church include an elementary school: Grandview Adventist Academy (1979) located in Mount Hope, and the Heritage Green Nursing Home (1982) on Stoney Creek Mountain.

Our Mission

Our mission is to share the love of Christ with our community and to help others be ready for Jesus’ soon return. When you worship with us, we pray that you will experience God’s loving acceptance and heart for you, experiencing the promise of Christ to set you free from the bondage of sin, granting you eternal life.

Our Vision

It would be well for us to spend a thoughtful hour each day in contemplation of the life of Christ. We should take it point by point, and let the imagination grasp each scene, especially the closing ones. As we thus dwell upon His great sacrifice for us, our confidence in Him will be more constant, our love will be quickened, and we shall be more deeply imbued with His spirit. If we would be saved at last, we must learn the lesson of penitence and humiliation at the foot of the cross. – The Desire of Ages (pg. 83).
